Allen Holstein was among the first professional vineyard managers in the Red Hills of Dundee. A respected viticulturist with a degree in horticulture, he currently manages and consults for over 500 acres of the finest producers of Oregon wines. Over the past twenty years, his client list has included Argyle, Domaine Drouhin, Stoller, and Knudsen. In addition to vineyard management, Holstein sources, consults and develops new properties for vineyard development and winery locations. In 1984, Holstein bought a ten acre vineyard property which he fully replanted to new clones of grafted and high density Pinot Noir grapes, selected by Argyle Winery for production of their “Cowhouse” label, in honor of the Holstein name! |
